This 32-credit master’s degree is designed to develop excellent literacy professionals based on the standards of the International Reading Association and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Graduate students will integrate in-depth knowledge of current research with active inquiry into literacy methodologies. Admission requires candidates to be initially certified by New York State in early childhood, childhood, or secondary education, ESL, bilingual education or special education. Students should select preparation for either the Birth to 6th Grade or the 5th-12th Grade literacy certificate.
