Fundamentals of robotics and related fields concerning robot design and control. Topics include forward and inverse kinematics of robotic manipulators; differential kinematics (velocities and accelerations); standard trajectory planning; dynamics of robotic arms; mobile robots in 2D and 3D; joint motion control; multivariable control; sliding mode control; robotic vehicle control; human-robot interaction and feedback linearization methods. Students registering for this course must have completed ME 41100 (Systems Modeling, Analysis and Control) or equivalent or obtain consent of instructor.
